Jackie Gillies + Associates can provide a range of other services associated with the conservation and creative re-use of historic buildings including; preparation of Archaeological Authority applications to the NZHPT for sites dating pre 1900; carrying out photographic surveys of historic buildings; providing or sourcing drafting services; and advice regarding interpretation of historical sites.
Drafting Services
The practice has access to a number of independent drafting firms which have demonstrated particular expertise in preparation of drawings of historic buildings. This includes drawing up measured surveys as well as preparation of detailed consent and construction drawings for modifications and re-use.
Interpretation
Jackie Gillies + Associates can provide advice regarding the interpretation of a historic site or building. The purpose of the interpretation is to allow the story of the place to be clearly told and so that the heritage values of the place can be appreciated by a wide audience. This work entails historical research including original photographs, preparation of concepts for suitable interpretation methods and management of the various contractors required to implement the proposal.
